RACE DAY VOLUNTEERS
Each team is required by the MBHSSA to provide parent volunteers to help run each race - and teams are penalized points if they do not have enough hill volunteers. Every family is expected to volunteer during the season. Sign-up options will be listed in Team Snap as well as a Sign-up genius we will link here when open.

Volunteers Needed for Every Race:
TENT SET UP
60-minutes before the start of the race
Set up tent, carpeting, heater and table at least 30 minutes before the start of the race. All items are stored at the base of the race hill in the storage shed.
TENT TEAR DOWN
Begin tear down during the last flight of the race

Break down the tent, carpeting, heater and table and put back in the storage shed at the base of the hill.

HOT COCOA & WATER
30-minutes before the start of the race - end of race
Responsible for preparing beverages and delivering them to the team tent by the beginning of the race. Clean-up beverage area and coordinate hand-off of supplies/cooler to next race volunteer.

TEAM PHOTOGRAPHER
Skis optional, can stay at base of hill. 15-minutes before the start of the race - end of race
Take pictures of the athletes while racing and of the team behind-the-scenes. Responsible for uploading pictures to the team Shutterfly site in a timely manner.

Volunteers Needed for NHS Assigned Races:
GATE JUDGE
On-hill, Skis Required. 30-minutes before the start of the race - end of race

Meet at the base of the race hill at 4:30pm for your clip board, vest and position assignment. Volunteers will be positioned along the race course to make the proper judgments on athlete passage. Disqualifications will be noted and collected by the chief judge. We will host a training for gate judging in December prior to the season starting.

ASSISTANT STARTER
On-hill, Skis Required. 30-minutes before the start of the race - end of race

Responsible for the duties of working the headset with the timer and starting racers from the race shack, while the assistant starter should be lining racers up in the flight order to ensure a steady flow of racers. No skis required.

COURSE MAINTENANCE
On-hill, Skis required. 30-minutes before the start of the race - end of race
Responsible for maintenance of designated race course, which is usually slipped between each flight and tat the end of the first run. The use of shovels and rakes are available at the top of the hill. Lift ticket provided and requires skis to be worn for course maintenance. Preference for Volunteer with Intermediate/Advanced ski skill level recommended.
